How long does an Appraisal take?
As soon as there is an accepted offer, the fully-executed contract documents are sent to the lender with a request to order the appraisal asap. The Buyer will be asked to pay the cost of the appraisal and typically will fill out a credit card authorization form for the payment that has to be completed and signed and returned to the lender. Once all this has been done, the appraisal will typically take about a week. For an additional fee of about $150, appraisals can be "rushed" and then it is typical to have the appraisal report within about 3-days after payment has been made.
