Misses Kisses' Trip to Affordable Animal Hospital!

As many of you have encountered the same experience with your you own lovable furball, Misses Kisses (our resident cat & mascot) was spade and she didn't like it - not one bit!

But it's at no fault to Affordable Animal Hospital, they treated her with care and love like we treat our own fur babies! From the moment we stepped in the door (sans cone of shame) to the minute we left (cone of shame fully intact around her furry head) Affordable Animal hospital took great care of her - and us too! We were a nervous bunch but they treated like we were their only patients and boy did we feel so much better! 

Here she is feeling "good" wearing her cone of shame... 

Don't feel bad for her though, she was groggy the rest of the day but was up and moving around tormenting our other cat by the next day!

How to care for your cat after a spay or neuter surgery

Spay and neuter surgeries are routine operations, but they’re still surgeries. If you're worried about how to care for your cat after it’s been spayed (female cats) or neutered (male cats). If you're wondering about how to care for your cat after a neutering or spaying. Here are a few tips to keep them safe and healthy!

• Provide a quiet, comfortable space for your cat.
• Keep your cat comfortable.
• Keep the lights low.
• Provide a clean litter box and easily accessible food and water. 
• Keep your cat indoors.
• Inspect your cat’s incision area.
• Use an “Elizabethan” collar. (aka: Cone of Shame)
• Offer the cat food and water. 
• Let your cat rest.
• Avoid lifting your cat unless it’s absolutely necessary.
• Restrict your cat’s movement.
• Avoid bathing the cat.
• Give pain medications only as directed by your veterinarian.

After a week or two, your cat will be feeling as good as new again!
