Verdugo Bar Celebrating 10 Years in Glassell Park!

Celebrating their 10th year anniversary! Verdugo Bar is considered to be one of Glassell Park's most coveted hidden gems. It is located on Verdugo Road on the corner of Avenue 34 and is frequented by locals and transplants looking to hang out in a relaxing atmosphere while sipping on awesome signature cocktails and a long list of amazing craft beer. ​Craft beers like the Stickee Monkee and the Hop Nookie are among the list! 

This unpretentious bar is known for being the welcoming neighborhood hangout with friendly workers, great service, and amazing drinks! They also collaborate with multiple local food trucks to cater to the thirsty crowd so there's plenty of food variety to be enjoyed.

Their resident DJ features throwback music, and the bar provides plenty of entertainment like movies/sports on their flat screens as well as a number of games like jenga and bingo in their outdoor patio area. The place really gives off an amazing vibe it's no wonder why people love it here and keep coming back. ​

Kyle Bilowitz, co-owner of Verdugo Bar is native to LA, raised right outside of Pasadena. He and his business partner, Ryan Sweeney, met in college and opened up Verdugo Bar in 2007. They chose Glassell Park because they really loved how its identity was well rooted and held a strong character. They also saw great potential for the area and wanted to be part of the change and growth.

He believes that "expanding on, promoting, and creating new events such as the NELA artwalk, farmers market, craft fairs, music festivals, community awareness and fundraisers, school programs, park and rec center activities, holiday celebrations, and many others would help strengthen our local community and move momentum forward in the right direction."

The future of Glassell Park looks bright and with people like Kyle, it really helps push it forward! A BIG Thank you to Kyle for being an amazing advocate for Glassell Park!
