THE FIRST EVER MOBILE CAT CAFE A brand new and unique take on the cat cafe concept, Moon Cat Cafe brings the cat cafe experience on the road to the public, utilizing a renovated step van outfitted with a modern aesthetic. It offers a small but comfortable sit-down cafe environment (with adoptable cats and great coffee!), as well as fine artisan goods for sale. You may have seen it already zipping around the highways of Los Angeles and Orange County: a large monochromatic truck, with an entrance made completely out of glass, promising in bold black and white text: "CATS. COFFEE. FINE GOODS." Welcome to Moon Cat Cafe, the first ever mobile cat cafe in the world. Its founder, Janet Pao, took an empty delivery van and transformed it into a small cat oasis on wheels, where visitors can come on board and spend time with adoptable cats in a cozy cafe-and-boutique environment. The cafe area offers a safe and cage-free space for adoptable cats to showcase their personalities to potential adopters, who can enjoy their company along with locally-sourced coffee and pastries. WHY MOBILE? It gives Moon Cat Cafe the freedom and flexibility to bring the cat cafe experience to a wide variety of cities and communities. From stand-alone adoption events to pet expos to private birthday events, Moon Cat Cafe offers cat lovers throughout L.A. and Orange Counties a unique place to not only hang out with cats, but also support local non-profit rescues. THE CATS All adoptable cats on board come from trusted and reputable local cat rescues, whose volunteer efforts include street rescue, shelter pulls, fostering, medical rehabilitation, spay/neuter education, feral cat colony caretaking, and much more! Moon Cat Cafe chooses to partner with these incredible rescues to support their mission in finding forever homes for homeless cats, and to bring awareness to their cause through community events. SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES AND RESCUE GROUPS Moon Cat Cafe was founded with the ethos of supporting local and giving back to the community. 10% of total revenue always goes directly to the rescue partners. The merchandise are all designed by independent female artists. And the coffee and pastries are freshly made by independent, female-minority-owned businesses, Elabrew Coffee and Kape Republik. Brian Fitzburgh Real Estate Broker / Animal Lover 818-571-9712 team@brokerstrust.com www.brokerstrust.com There is still time to make your New Year's resolutions! And, may we suggest that you consider including your companion animals too? Maybe your goal is to eat healthier, work out more often and spend more time with your family. Well, does your dog or cat need to drop a few pounds or exercise more as well? LA Animal Services shares some ideas with you to keep you and your pets happy and healthy in 2018. 1. Help your pet eat healthy and watch their weight. Measuring meals can help you maintain your pet's weight and their overall health. Whether you plan meals or free-feed your pet, calculate their calorie goals, find out how much you should feed each day, and measure it out to ensure proper nutrition. 2. Schedule a vet check-up. Make sure your best friend is healthy by scheduling an annual exam with your vet and checking that his or her vaccines are up-to-date. Yearly examinations by the veterinarian are a key component of good preventive care. Many medical conditions such as diabetes, arthritis or heart problems are common in aging pets and are much easier to manage when found early. 3. Start a daily grooming routine. Brushing your dog or cat daily only takes a few minutes and helps remove dead hair- which also reduces the amount of fuzz you find on your clothes, floor and furniture. It also helps distribute oils from the skin to their fur, keeping their coat shiny and healthy. Don't forget to brush his or her teeth too! Brushing teeth often is the best way to keep tartar and plaque under control. 4. Teach an old dog a new trick. Teaching your dog a new trick or playing a new game with your cat stimulates their mind. By keeping your furry friend's brain active, you can actually help make your pet healthier and keep them out of trouble. 5. Update your pet's ID information. If you moved or have a new phone number, be sure to update your pet's license, tags and microchip with your current contact information. It's the best way to reunite you and your buddy if they happen to get lost. 6. Exercise together. Going on extra walks each week or running around the dog park together is a great way to bond with your dog. It'll get you both out of the house, and you and your pet will reap the rewards of healthy physical activity. These six resolutions won't only benefit your pet, but strengthen your companionship with them, which only means more nuzzles from your best friend in the new year! With a little planning and precaution, you can ensure that your New Year's celebration is enjoyable for you and your furry friends. Below are some safety tips to keep in mind this weekend.

Brian Fitzburgh 818-571-9712 team@brokerstrust.com www.brokerstrust.com When Brian Fitzburgh decided to ditch the petting zoo at his annual Superbowl client BBQ in favor of a dog and cat adoption drive, he didn’t realize just how dramatically it would change his life — and his business. Now, two years later, he’s in the process of rolling out a nationwide pet fostering and adoption campaign — “Be a Hero” — which has brought him closer to his clients than ever before. “It genuinely changed the course of my life,” Fitzburgh says. “I’d never done anything for the community; I’d never had a wish to be involved in community.” It started off small — four adoptions from a crowd of around 100 people at that first client BBQ — but that success was enough to set the wheels in motion. “The thought occurred that it might not just be clients who wanted to help,” Fitzburgh explains. He decided to expand his reach, leading to the establishment of Homes Fur All, the 501(c)(3) through which he now runs all his adoption and fostering efforts. Homes Fur All’s first event was held in 2017 in Brian’s city, Glassell Park — appropriately named “Glassell Bark” and run in the style of a community fair. It attracted 3,000 people and featured events such as a human barking contest and doggie fashion show, as well as free microchipping and, of course, animals up for adoption. Then came events in Echo Park and a Superbowl party, all branded under the banner “Bark and Meow.” Homes Fur All also played an integral role in the REALTORS® to the Rescue Pet Lounge hosted at C.A.R.’s REimagine! conference. Adopting a pet is a great way to spare an animal from a shelter, but it’s not the only option. Through partnering with Los Angeles Animal Services, Fitzburgh realized the crucial role that animal fostering plays in dramatically reducing shelter kill rates. Determined to incorporate fostering into his program, he started including a sign-up station for pet fostering opportunities at all his open houses and was struck by the response of his clients. “You always have to beg people to sign your open house sheet, and I don’t have to beg anybody to sign the foster sheet — they do it on their own.” With well over 100 foster placements to its name, Homes Fur All has succeeded in saving many animals from shelters. But that hasn’t been its only success; Fitzburgh believes it has helped improve business numbers, too. “I wasn’t expecting it to be a business boost, but surprisingly and pleasantly, I’ve found that it really is,” he says. “When you’re talking about [a client’s] family, their kids and the pets that they love — the dynamic is so different. As an agent, you’re connecting with people on an emotional level, and before you know it, they want you to be their real estate agent.” With a packed calendar of Bark and Meow events, the Fitzburgh Realty Team now has even bigger ambitions: going national by developing a marketing kit that will be available to all REALTORS® across the country.Titled “Be a Hero” and operating under the banner of “Real Estate Agents to the Rescue,” the kit will guide agencies interested in establishing their own fostering programs.
